Bowen Sun | CCO
Michelle Yang oversees international film financing and production as the President of Vantage Entertainment. With offices in Los Angeles and Shanghai, she helps to connect resources and talents with promising film projects in both markets.
Michelle, a 9-year veteran of entertainment industry in both China and the U.S., began her career as a producer at Beijing Television (BTV) and Hunan Television (HTV), two of the premiere satellite stations in Mainland China. During her time in China, she worked with top-tier Chinese producers and talents, and was responsible for the projects’ overseas productions and international sales. She was the Associate Producer of the award-winning documentary series Nanjing Massacre in the Eyes of Foreigners and served as the Assistant Producer of the Chinese-Japanese co-production Sweet Heart Chocolate. Before starting her own company, she worked on a series of co-production features including The King’s Daughter, Birth of the Dragon, 17 Days of Winter, and Queen of War.
Her recent credit includes executive producer on the upcoming Billionaire Boys Club produced by Cassian Elwes, starring Taron Egerton and Ansel Elgort. Born in China, Michelle earned her B.A. at Peking University, and later obtained her M.A. in Film Production from University of Southern California.
Bowen Sun, producer, head of business at Vantage, oversees all film financing and project packaging. She joined Vantage from Girl’s Image, where she was the partner and oversaw business negotiations and content development. While at Girl’s Image, she worked on several big hits as Brides Wars (Chinese version) , Fall In Love Like A Star and Scarlet Heart, among many others. Prior to Girl’s Image, Bowen worked as both a producer and an executive for Pegasus Media. She has been a part of the production and international distribution of such film as Netflix original feature Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, China-Korea co-production The Third Way of Love and Roaring Currents. Bowen also worked as an independent producer for financing films include American Made and Iron Sky 2.
Valeria Wei | COO
Valeria joined Vantage Entertainment in 2016 as Head of China Division. She came to Vantage Entertainment from DMG Entertainment, where she served as a PR specialist at the CEO’s office, and Enlight Pictures, where she worked as a coordinator at the company’s international business division. She was involved in world-wide sales, distribution and marketing of several Chinese blockbuster productions including Lost in Hong Kong, Devil and Angel, as well as the Chinese distribution of Point Break. Prior to pursuing a career in the film industry, Valeria had extensive experience in public relations and media. She was with premiere PR agency FleishmanHillard’s Hong Kong office and Cosmopolitan China Edition.
Valeria holds a MA in Strategic Public Relations from the Annenberg School of University of Southern California, and a BA in Italian/Global Communications from Communication University of China.
